Distinctive First-Year Curriculum
First-year engineering students participate in a common Freshman Curriculum that complements foundational mathematics, science and liberal arts courses with two multidisciplinary engineering courses designed to introduce freshmen to engineering analysis, design and research. During their first year, students complete two multidisciplinary engineering projects that provide them with an overview of the areas of specialization within each particular engineering discipline.
With the knowledge and experience they have gained, freshmen are able to make more informed decisions on their choices of engineering majors. The first-year program concludes with immersion in a seven-week educational experience in the field they have chosen to study.
